Fall :(

Usually FALL would be followed by a happy face but in Southern California, fall really does not exist.  I was at Target the other day and was maybe-kinda-sorta listening to a lady on the phone who was raving to the person on the other end about what a perfect fall day it was.  In reality it was nothing like fall at all, it was 90 degrees, super sunny and no rotting plant breeze was blowing leaves anywhere!  You can even see how sunny it was by looking at my Burbank Target picture in a previous post.   This ladies ignorance for the season made me realized I needed to post how you make fall happen when you are in the wrong climate.  You can do this by...

Lighting a pumpkin scented candle and eating Limited Edition pumpkin pie pop-tarts.

Drinking a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks.

Asking everyone you know to ship you Blueberry Donuts from White House Fruit Farms in Canfield, Ohio.   Seriously the.best.donut.in.the.whole.world.

Making a fruit crisp like The Delicious (Yes, I named my peach crisp The Delicious.  Yes, we devoured it before I could even take a picture).

Here's the top secret super easy recipe for The Delicious...

1 can (29 oz.) peach slices, drained
2/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 c. butter, softened

== Throw the drained peaches into the bottom of a greased 8x8 baking pan.  Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl, I use a fork to incorporate all of the butter evenly throughout the mixture.  Pour the remaining ingredients over the peaches.  Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.==  Easy, Peezy, Fo-Sheezy!

The next steps in my quest for fall...
-Buy a giant blanket, get my fan (to produce a temperature where a blanket is OK) and curl up on the Love Sac (totally awesome giant bean bag) and read the rest of the Lord of the Rings series.
-Pick out a Pumpkin, carve it and toast the seeds!
-Look up pictures of ariel views of the best corn mazes ever.

I miss you fall!

Pwetttty

Sometimes I go to the Burbank Target just for the view when you leave...It is prettier in real life when you can look beyond the parking lot!

3 Really Great Things About Life

The little green thing in a cup of coffee that makes it not spill.
One time I put a coffee in my purse with one of these babies. Whaaat whaattt!

TOMS shoes are the greatest, but being able to wash them is even better.   YES you can wash them, don't be afraid, just do it,  seriously.  Look it up, its real, just do it, just do it.  I know it takes a lot of persuading, but I did it and you can too, I swear it, it's OK, really.  It took me more persuading that that, really it was a month of contemplation.  It is so worth it!

The cart escalator at Target.  I mean really what can be better than a 3 story Super Target within walking distance of your  home.  Not much I tell you, not much.

FREE Beverages!

If you want free beverages, head to the nearest beach.

At Hermosa Beach on Saturday, James and I were strolling along the boardwalk and ran into a street sale.  Tents on streets at the beach = free samples.
These were the 3 beverages we collected.... oh, plus free 7/11 slushies...

So heres a little review on each of these beverages...

Cuties Juice, Tangerine--- Pretty delicious, natural sugar but really really, maybe too much sweetness.  Basically  tasted exactly like a bunch of tangerines.  Yummy! Maybe would buy it, but not in bulk, definitely not in bulk.

Kern's Nectar, Mango --- Not bad, not great.  Second ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, probably safe to assume anything in a can is not good for you.  I like mangos A LOT, but this wasn't that great.  Probably will never buy it.

Vita Coco, Coconut Water --- I've heard good things about coconut water, but after trying this beverage... never again.  I really only like the smell of coconut, not the taste, but this stuff didn't even smell good, it smelled old.  I mean since it was free, maybe it was old.  GROSS! I will never buy it again, but I'm glad I had the chance to try it for FREE-zies!   A plus on Vita Coco...The packaging is really fun looking!

Yay for free samples!
